TWIN BAY BRITISH CAR CLUB EVENTS FOR 2025

The TBBCC Activities Committee consisting of Vice President Trent Tomlinson and Lonnie Stevens put together two documents for 2025. The first (to the right, or below on a smart phone) is a list of PROGRAMS TO BE PRESENTED AT MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS through August. It lists the Presenter, the Subject, whether there will be a Tea and Talk Show that month, and Additional Events happening during the month! Stay tuned to the Event Calendar on the Website, or to Email Blasts promoting the events!

The second document is a list of 12 events for the FORMULA FUN CIRCUIT for 2025! As the form says, this circuit is a GRAND PRIX style competition complete with a CHAMPION ROADRUNNER awarded at year end! An AWARD and PRIZE will be given for most points attained.

Some strategy is required for this circuit. Spend some time plotting out which events you can attend, and which car(s) you can take!

NOTE: The GILMORE MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN event on July 12th and 13th may require an overnight stay. If you plan to attend and need overnight accomodations, please email Lonnie Stevens at: lonniestevens@svaiki.com as soon as possible!

About Our Members

We are a club of more than 200 members who are passionate about cars. The club was founded over 25 years ago by a small group of British sports car owners to share the spirit of collecting, maintaining and driving interesting vehicles.A few key points:

Members are mainly from the Midwest and most live within 80 miles of Traverse City (situated on twin bays of Lake Michigan) in Northwestern Lower Michigan.
You don't need a British sports car to be part of the fun. Vehicles of all types you'd see at a cars & coffee are represented--including American, British French, German, Italian, Japanese and a handful of others. And they include sports cars, sedans, military vehicles, motorcycles and trucks.
In fact, all are welcome to club activities focused on fellowship and motorized enjoyment.

2025 TBBCC HOLIDAY PARTY!

The Membership Meeting for January was a HOLIDAY PARTY on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Hotel Indigo in Traverse City. The festivities started at 5:30 pm and was attended by 49 members! Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar started the event, followed by a buffet style dinner.

Outgoing President Jeff DeBoer conducted a short membership meeting, including a big THANK YOU to the outgoing officers, the various committee chairs, and to all the TBBCC volunteers at the 25th ALDEN CLASSIC SPORTS CAR SHOW in August.

Jeff then PASSED THE GAVEL to incoming President, and past Vice President Kirt Kilbourne!

After the formal (short) meeting, Jeff showed the 20 minute ALDEN CAR SHOW video that member, and incoming Vice President Trent Tomlinson took during the show! The video is posted later on this HOME page. The group was then entertained by a special tribute song to outgoing President Jeff, centered around "President Emeritus". After the song, the outgoing TBBCC Board presented Jeff with an Outstanding Leadership Award for his three years of service as President of the club!

The group was entertained again by various Christmas Carols sung by the Norman Aberschnaple Choir (see photos that follow).

The evening concluded by another unique reading of "T'was the Night Before Christmas" by Jeff DeBoer.

NEW ALDEN VIDEO

One of the presentations at the January 4, 2025 HOLIDAY PARTY, was a 20 minute video of the 2024 ALDEN CLASSIC SPORTS CAR SHOW produced by TBBCC member and new Vice President Trent Tomlinson! This was the 25th Anniversary of the Alden Car Show sponsored by TBBCC!

The TBBCC 2024 Fall Color Tour was postponed a week from a rainy Sunday to a beautiful, sunny day with brilliant fall colors! John Russell lead the tour through Antrim County, with an intended stop at Dockside for lunch. Even though they knew the group was coming, it was closed! Great food was had in Alden however, along with a wonderful stop at Orchard View Farms! Photos follow.

The 25th Annual ALDEN CLASSIC SPORTS CAR SHOW was another successful event!

99 Classic Cars attended the show! Weather started out a little iffy in the morning, but things cleared up quickly!

TOUR TO RON EDWARDS' GARAGES

16 vehicles and around 25 TBBCC members were part of a tour to Honor and Beulah on Saturday, September 7th for a visit to TBBCC member Ron Edwards two garages. The first stop was at his workshop in Honor, where Ron has nearly a dozen cars in various states of repair. The second stop was at his garage near his home in Beulah! After the visit, most participants went to St. Ambrose Cellars for lunch before returning back to Traverse City. The weather was a little cool, but the tours of the garages was worth braving the weather. Ron has nearly another dozen runnable sports cars at his main garage. At least a couple may see a change of ownership in the near future.

The Twin Bay British Car Club was well represented at the National Cherry Festival Car Show on Sunday, June 30, 2024. The show was moved back to the Old Town District downtown Traverse City this year! Member and past president John Russell arrived in Old Town early to secure sites on 7th St. near Union for approximately a dozen classic cars from the TBBCC. The classic car owners and visitors were not deterred by the cool and windy conditions! A slideshow of our vehicles at the show follows!

TBBCC Merchandise for Sale!

This is a new feature for the Twin Bay British Car Club! Click the IMAGE to the right (or below if using a smartphone) to open a link to the Wagners Sign & Apparel Website. Here you will find many apparel items and accessories with the TBBCC logo, as well as an option for the MG logo and Triumph logo. We are working with Wagners to also add the Austin-Healey logo. Other vehicle logos not copyright protected are also being explored as options.

When you select an item you will have a choice of size, color, and logo, along with quantity. Logo 1 is the TBBCC logo, Logo 2 is the MG logo, Logo 3 is the TRIUMPH Logo!

Other items, like soft sided tool bags, are also being looked at as an addition to the site.

The club will receive a small percentage of each sale.

Become a Member

You can become a member by applying and paying the dues of $25 for 12 months. You will receive a name badge for both you and your Co-Driver who also becomes a voting member. Renewal dues are $25 for an additional 12 months. Dues are payable by check to: Membership Chairman Bruce Wiegand at 9122 Peninsula Drive, Traverse City, MI 49686-1565.
